Supplementary savings

Supplementary savings are optional but very important. You can pay up to 4% of your total wages in addition to the mandatory premium and obtain a matching contribution from the wage payer. Most wage agreements specify a matching contribution of 2%. You may then withdraw the savings at age 60. The savings are your private property and go to your spouse and children if you pass, but you can also utilise them in connection with buying housing.
